How Brianna met Dustin

I didn’t know what to think about Dustin. My friend from work had told me about two guys who had just started working for the home health company, and was wondering if I’d be interested in meeting with either of them. Originally, I wasn’t. I wasn’t up for trying to date some one at that time. The work and energy of meeting someone, having the time to get to know them, planning activities, and giving up the personal freedom that I enjoyed seemed like too much. But then Dustin contacted me before we even met, helping me to make my decision to officially meet him. He texted me, asking ever-so-politely if I’d like to talk before meeting. I ended up calling him back that night, and we talked for over an hour on our first conversation. About what, I don’t even remember. We met two nights later at that same friend’s house for a double date dinner. We had great conversation, he had amazing stories to tell, and was interested in the same things I was. When we left, he asked to see me again. We talked the next few nights for a hours at a time, and then met to “watch”the NBA finals at a favorite bar (truth be told, we were too busy looking at each other dreamily and talking to be too focused on the game). We then went for a walk afterwards. I remember him seeming so nervous. A few nights and long conversations later, we went rock climbing up in the Foothills. We came back to my apartment that night, and I was wanting to have the conversation about where we were going in our relationship. But Dustin beat me to it, telling me how interested he was in pursuing a serious relationship and how he enjoyed spending time with me. I said yes to him that night, and have continued to say yes to our relationship. We have spent many days together, climbed over rocks, hiked over mountains, built a home, continued to grow in our relationship with each other through the Lord, and I continue to fall more in love with him. I cannot wait to say “yes” to him forever on our wedding day. He is my best friend, my caring partner, my happily-after, that I never dreamed I would be blessed enough to have.
